I was saddened to hear of a mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine. We stayed just 26 miles from Lewiston last month on a Holiday in Maine. When I heard that the shooting was in Lewiston I recalled the gentleman who tattooed Brock and me with our Lighthouses saying that he had lived in Lewiston for some time. He mentioned that the types of tattoos he did vary from Lewiston to his current business in Bath.
Maine is a sweet and lovely state. Over our six visits there we have met many wonderful Mainers. We love to visit and rest and refresh next to the ocean. Maine is full of small communities. Peaceful people who mind their own business. Our Captain on our sailboat tour lives in Maine. What a nice person. Maine has a different feel to it. It feels like home…even if it is not your home. It feels like family.
I awoke from a vivid dream this morning. For some reason, I would have to leave my beloved Maine. I did not understand why…but I did not want to leave…

BJ I thought of you when I heard the news come through about Maine today. I remembered how much you loved it and felt it to be home. Such terrible news from Lewiston. I have no words, but may those who died rest in peace. Tears indeed.
Yes, my friend, it is horrible.
Have you written elsewhere on your lighthouse tattoos? If so and you wouldn’t mind sharing links, I’d love to read more! (I’m contemplating my second tattoo, so very interested in others'(-who-touch-me) thoughts on how they chose theirs.)
I was raised as an only child and discovered that my father, who left mom and I when I was 5, had children with two other women. My brother Brock and I have become close and we both received matching tattoos of the initial B five years ago and lighthouses last month in Bath, Maine.
