A Christmas Suprise

‘Well, this year I have asked Santa for a Big Swinger Polaroid Camera,’ Billy B said. ‘Neva J informed me that money is tight and that I should not get my hopes up,’ Billy B continued. ‘I failed to mention that I was hoping for some Rock-Um-Sock-Um-Robots as well,’ Billy B noted with a downcast stare.

‘You know the Rock-Em-Sock-Em-Robots are for smaller children,’ Chet asked? ‘I wanted them when I was younger but got a Daniel Boone Action Figure instead,’ Chet observed. ‘I like Daniel B better,’ Chet grinned.

‘In this corner is Red Rock weighing 200 pounds,’ the Announcer said. ‘His opponent is Blue Dog at 195 pounds,’ the Announcer continued. ‘In the Christmas Spirit they have chosen not to fight but to give Christmas gifts to needy children,’ the Announcer intoned.

‘Much of the year Blue Dog and I fight for our political beliefs with little thought for the children of our world,’ Red Rock said with a tear in his eye. ‘We are so concerned with winning and knocking each other Block-Off that we forget what we are fighting for,’ Red Rock said with feeling. ‘This year we must be the year of the children,’ Red Rock said.

‘All I look for is to see Red Rock’s Block rise above his body with the metallic squeak of victory,’ Blue Dog said. ‘However the sound of victory has become less satisfying through the years…nothing changes…we have the same problems of hunger and homelessness,’ Blue Dog said with sorrow. ‘There has to be a better way,’ Blue Dog said as if in prayer.

‘Oh my what happened,’ Billy B said with amazement. ‘Suddenly we were at a Boxing Match of the Rock-Em-Sock-Em-Robots and they were experiencing an Epiphany.

‘Stranger things have happened at Christmas,’ Chet advised with a wink…
