‘John Sidney McCain III is an American politician serving as the senior United States Senator from Arizona since 1987.’
‘During the Vietnam War, he was almost killed in the 1967 USS Forrestal fire. While McCain was on a bombing mission over Hanoi, in October 1967, he was shot down, seriously injured, and captured by the North Vietnamese. He was a prisoner of war until 1973. McCain experienced torture and refused an out-of-sequence early reparation offer. The wounds that he sustained during war have left him with lifelong physical disabilities.’ Wikipedia
‘Furor built Friday among lawmakers in both parties and family members following reports that one of President Donald Trump’s aides, Kelly Sadler, had mockingly referred to Sen. John McCain’s brain cancer during a White House meeting.’
In response to McCain’s announcement that he opposes Gina Haspel’s nomination as CIA director due to her refusal to label torture as immoral…Ms. Sadler, is reported to have said, ‘He’s dying anyway.’ NBC News
Meghan McCain said this morning on the television show, The View, that ‘we are all dieing and it is not how you die but how you live that matters.’
Ms. McChain also wondered how a White House staffer could make such a statement and still have her job the next morning?
A terrible and frightening and horrific political precedent is permeating our public, and private, discourse, since president Trump has, first campaigned for the presidency, and then secured the position.
Mr. Trump, when he was campaigning for the presidency, said that he did not view Sen. McCain as a war hero because he was captured and that he liked people who were not captured.
President Trump did not serve in the military due to six deferments…for bone spurs.
Where is the outrage and outcry of the Senator’s colleagues at this terrible and ignorant statement by a young staffer…who was simply following the lead of her president?
Senator John McCain has done more for his country and his political party, by accident, than president Trump, will ever do on purpose.
When it is acceptable speech to equivocate Nazis with those who are protesting Nazis and to make fun and belittle the disabled and to speak in a misogynistic manner regarding women and to sexually harass women and to regularly and consistently…over a period of many years…utter prejudice and biased statements…and no one says…this is wrong…
God have mercy on us…
